ANANTA PC Requirements and Performance
Steam still lists CPU and GPU as TBD. A detailed spec table circulates anyway, and it traces to the January 2026 closed test rather than the release build. This page sorts what is official from a reasonable floor, and flags what not to buy on the strength of a rumour.
| Steam CPU / GPU | TBD |
|---|---|
| Steam OS | Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit |
| Circulating minimum | i5-9400F, 16 GB, GTX 1060 6 GB, 40 GB SSD |
| Circulating recommended | i7-12700K, 32 GB, RTX 3080, 100 GB SSD |
| VRAM floor | 6 GB, the practical minimum in the circulating table |
| Upscaling | DLSS 4 at launch; DLSS 4.5 announced, not shipped |
| Ray tracing | Ray-traced reflections confirmed |
| Xbox / Switch / Deck | Not announced |
What Steam says
The official system requirements section is mostly empty. It gives the operating system, Windows 10 or 11 in 64-bit, and leaves processor and graphics as TBD in both the minimum and recommended columns. That is not a scraping error; it is the current state of the store page.
Steam does confirm controller support, including DualSense over USB, and lists the language matrix. Neither tells you whether your machine will run the game, which is why the community circulates a table the store has not adopted.
The circulating table, with its build label
The detailed numbers across media and community sites all trace to the CBT1 build from mid-January 2026. They are not a release guarantee, but they are the only structured estimate available, and they agree across outlets that appear to share a source.
| Tier | CPU | RAM | GPU | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum (CBT1) | Intel Core i5-9400F, or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X | 16 GB | NVIDIA GTX 1060 (6 GB) | 40 GB SSD |
| Recommended (CBT1) | Intel Core i7-12700K, or AMD Ryzen 9 9900X | 32 GB | NVIDIA RTX 3080 | 60 GB, up to 100 GB with HD textures |
The storage figures reconcile easily: 40 GB is the base install, 60 GB adds a texture package, and 100 GB is the safe reservation. Budget 100 GB on an SSD and you will not move files later.
VRAM matters more than the model name
The most useful line in the table is the 6 GB VRAM minimum. A newer card with 4 GB will struggle more than an older card with 6 GB, and laptops often ship reduced-memory versions of desktop models. Check the memory figure before the badge.
Read the minimum tier as 1080p at low to medium settings with ray tracing off. That is not a promise of a comfortable experience, and certainly not of high frame rates.
DLSS, ray tracing, and the engine
ANANTA runs on a heavily customised Unity build. At launch it supports DLSS 4, including multi-frame generation on RTX 50-series cards, plus ray-traced reflections. DLSS 4.5 was announced in August 2026 as a future upgrade, in the future tense, with no date and no implementation yet.
That combination explains the recommended tier. An RTX 3080 is a ray-tracing and high-frame-rate target, not a hard gate. A GTX 1060 survives on upscaling rather than raw power, which is why 40-series cards without multi-frame generation should be judged on upscaling with ray tracing off, not on a headline feature they lack.
Frame rates quoted in Chinese articles are impressions from individual machines, not benchmarks. No verified performance data exists for the release build.
Tuning: find the setting that costs you frames
There are no official presets, so the only honest advice is a method. Fix a test scene first, ideally central Nova City in rain with a crowd, and record the frame rate at native resolution. Then try Balanced upscaling before Performance, and change one setting at a time to learn which one owns the drop.
| Order | Setting | Why it goes early | Visual cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Shadow quality | Fill-rate heavy; worst in dense districts | Medium |
| 2 | Global illumination and reflections | Neon reflections are both the look and the cost | Medium to high |
| 3 | Post-processing: bloom, depth of field, motion blur | Costly, and they soften the image | Low; the picture often improves |
| 4 | Crowd and NPC density | The usual downtown CPU bottleneck; check it before blaming the GPU | Medium |
| 5 | Volumetric fog | Distance only; invisible during a fight | Low |
| 6 | Texture quality | Last: 6 GB of VRAM can hold High | High, hence last |
Texture quality is the trap. Most guides tell you to drop it first; it is the setting you should touch last. Dropping it from High costs detail you look at constantly, while shadows and reflections cost frames you feel constantly. On 6 GB or more, leave textures alone.
Three switches are worth setting deliberately. Turn V-Sync off on a variable-refresh display and use a frame cap instead, so frame times stay stable. Turn dynamic resolution on if the option exists; a soft resolution drop is less visible than a hard one. On a 30-series card or older, plan on upscaling with ray tracing off — multi-frame generation is a 50-series feature.
What each GPU tier should realistically aim for
These targets are inferences from the CBT1 table and from what ray-traced reflections cost elsewhere. Treat them as a starting point for your own testing, not a compatibility list.
| Tier | Target | Approach |
|---|---|---|
| GTX 1060 6 GB / RX 580 | 1080p, low to medium | Ray tracing off, upscaling on, hold 50 to 60 fps |
| RTX 3060 / 4060 | 1080p, high | Ray tracing low, Balanced upscaling, 60 fps |
| RTX 3070 Ti / 4070 | 1440p, high | Ray tracing medium; the comfortable band |
| RTX 3080 / 4080 | 4K medium-high, or 1440p maxed | At the official recommended tier |
Two storage claims need correcting. The official store lists 40 GB and 100 GB; the widely quoted 250 GB figure comes from an unofficial 2025 dump and has never been the published requirement. A mechanical drive will stutter while streaming in a city this dense, whatever the free space, so an SSD is the practical floor even though the store only says "SSD recommended".
Do not copy settings from emulator tutorials. Those describe a translation layer running the mobile client, with its own options and bottlenecks; none of it maps onto the native PC build.
Mobile specifications are unverified
A mobile spec table circulates too: Android 5.0 or newer, a Snapdragon 885-class chip, 6 GB of RAM, around 30 GB of storage, iPhone 12 Pro as the floor and 14 Pro recommended. None of it appears on an official store page. The game does ship on iOS and Android, but no supported device list has been published.
What to buy, and what to skip
- Do not build a PC for this game yet. The only official performance claims are DLSS 4 and ray-traced reflections; the rest is a closed-test estimate.
- If you are upgrading anyway, prioritise 8 GB or more of VRAM and an SSD. Both survive a spec revision.
- Skip the ray-tracing premium unless you are also buying for other games. The confirmed feature is reflections, not a full path-traced mode.
- Do not expect Steam Deck, Xbox, or Switch versions. None have been announced or appear in any official platform list.
Unconfirmed
CPU and GPU requirements for the release build, the final storage figure, mobile device support, and every frame-rate claim. The circulating table is CBT1-derived and may be replaced before 15 January 2027.
The short version
Steam has not published the real requirements, so treat the CBT1 table as a floor with a build label. Six gigabytes of VRAM and an SSD are the two numbers worth remembering; everything else is provisional.
